5 easy ways to peel Garlic in a jiffy

Eating garlic is considered very beneficial for health. It not only enhances the taste of vegetables but is also considered good for health. So garlic is used everywhere. But when they think about removing garlic, lightning strikes many people's heads.

Especially if you want to cook meat, you need a lot of garlic. Then the work pressure is more. However, garlic peel can be removed very easily by adopting some methods.

01 Kitchen hacks to make garlic-peeling easier

There is something about the aroma of garlic that can spruce up the flavours of any kind of dish in an instant. From stir-fries and noodles to curries and pasta, garlic is an unmissable part of a large variety of dishes. Not just taste, garlic also brings along a number of health benefits with itself. Garlic might be a super flavourful vegetable but peeling it is not a cakewalk. Peeling garlic is not only messy but also takes a lot of time. Here are some super easy and non-messy ways to peel garlic cloves in a jiffy. 

02​ Microwave technique

  • Take a whole garlic bulb and put it in the microwave.
  • Set the timer for 30 seconds.
  • Take out the garlic bulb and rub it between your hands gently.
  • Separate the garlic pods from one another and remove the extra peels.
  • Now take one garlic clove and remove the peel using your hands.
  • You will notice how easily the peel will get removed after microwaving it first. 

03 ​Shaking technique

  • Roughly separate all the garlic cloves from one another and add them to a bowl.
  • Now cover the bowl with a lid.
  • Hold both sides of the bowl firmly and shake the bowl for a few seconds.
  • Open the lid and check whether the peels have separated or not.
  • If not, close the lid again and give a good shake, a few more times.
  • This technique will help you in separating the peel from the garlic without much efforts. 

04 Crushing technique

  • Crushing is another easy technique that will help you remove the peel in an instant.
  • The only drawback of crushing the garlic is that it doesn’t retain the shape, which means that it can’t be used in recipes that require garlic to be of a specific shape or size.
  • Take one garlic pod and place a knife horizontally on it.
  • Now just use your palm to put pressure on the knife and crush it.
  • Once crushed, just separate the peel from the garlic clove.

05 ​Hot water technique

  • Firstly, collect the garlic pods in a bowl.
  • Add boiling hot water to the bowl and leave it aside for about 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, take out the cloves and drain the excess water.
  • Just peel the cloves now and you’ll notice how easily the peel comes off.
  • The hot water loosens the grip of the peel from the garlic, making peeling a much easier task.
