Prime Minister will attend the Bangladesh-World Bank event today
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the event organized on the occasion of 50 years of partnership between Bangladesh and the World Bank today.
He will address the plenary session on 'Reflecting on 50 years of World Bank-Bangladesh Partnership' at WB's Preston Auditorium.
In this event, Sajib Wazed, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Information and Communication Technology, Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen, Planning Minister MA Mannan and Prime Minister's Private Industries and Investment Advisor Salman Fazlur Rahman will be present.
World Bank President David Malpass and the institution's former Chief Economist Kaushik Bose will address the event and global lender VP Martin will address the closing ceremony.
The Prime Minister will later attend a high-level business lunch after the plenary session with World Bank Presidents, MDs and VPs at the World Bank's East Dining Room.
He will address a meeting with World Bank Board members at the Shihata Conference Room at the World Bank headquarters.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be greeted with a bouquet of flowers by the World Bank's Country Director for Bangladesh Abdullaye Sek and its SAR VP Martin Riser on her arrival at the WB headquarters in Washington DC.
At the beginning of the event, the Prime Minister will jointly inaugurate a painting exhibition with the President of the World Bank and will tour some of the key paintings in the exhibition.
Later, Sheikh Hasina will witness a dance performance.
A video on 'Bangladesh-World Bank 50 Years Partnership' will be screened on the occasion.
Earlier, the Prime Minister arrived in Washington DC on April 28 to attend WB's programme.
After a six-day visit to Washington DC, Sheikh Hasina will leave the US for London on May 4 to attend the coronation of Charles III and his wife Camilla as King and Queen of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth countries.
The Prime Minister will return to Dhaka from London on May 9.
