Bus falls into ditch, At least 16 people killed in Madaripur

16 people were killed when a Dhaka-bound Imad Paribahan bus fell into a ditch in Kutubpur area of Shibchar in Madaripur. At least 30 people were injured in this incident. The accident happened on Sunday (March 19) morning.

Officer-in-Charge of Shibchar Highway Police (OC) Abu Naeem Md. Mofazzel Haque confirmed this.
Locals said that a bus of Imad Paribahan leaving Khulna on Sunday morning lost control and fell down in Qutubpur area of Shibchar before Padma bridge. At this time, the bus overturned. Bodies of 14 passengers were recovered from the bus.

Officer-in-Charge of Shibchar Highway Police (OC) Abu Naeem Md. Mofazzel Haque said that 16 people have been killed in the accident so far. The bodies of 14 passengers were recovered from the spot. Two others later died on the way to the hospital. Rescue work is going on.
