USA will not directly interfere with the dialogue : Uzra Zeya
The United States has stated that it will not directly interfere with the dialogue between the political parties ahead of the next national parliament elections.
On Thursday (July 13), Foreign Secretary Masood bin Momen and US State Department Undersecretary for Civilian Security, Democracy and Human Rights Uzra Zeya held a meeting at Padma State Guest House.
At the end of the meeting, Uzra Jaya said this in response to a question from journalists.
US Under Secretary Uzra Jaya arrived in Dhaka with a delegation in the evening via New Delhi on a four-day visit on Tuesday (July 11). Foreign Secretary Masoud bin Momen welcomed the US team at the airport.
The US team led by Uzra visited the Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar on Wednesday (July 13) as part of the tour's opening programme. They talked with the Rohingyas there. Uzra-Lu'ra had a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhavan on Thursday morning. Later they met with Law Minister Anisul Haque and Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal at the Secretariat.
Besides, the US team led by Uzra will also meet with Prime Minister's Private Sector Adviser Salman F Rahman in the evening.
Apart from this, the US delegation is scheduled to meet civil society representatives, labor leaders and others during their visit to Dhaka.
