Dengue: Country witnesses 8 deaths, 2,731 cases in 24 hours
Eight more patients died of dengue infection and 2,731 were hospitalised in the last 24 hours till 8:00am on Sunday, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
This is the highest number of single-day dengue cases in the country this year. Of the fresh cases, some 1,184 cases were logged in the capital and 1,547 cases were reported outside the capital. The number dengue patient has also been increasing simultaneously in districts.
According to the DGHS data, a total of 9,418 dengue patients are now undergoing treatment across the country. Of them, 5,147 are receiving treatment at hospitals in Dhaka city.
Analysing data of the DGHS, it was also found that 76.48 percent or 37,583 dengue patients are between aged 11 to 50 years in the country.
Some 41,160 dengue patients have been hospitalised and 200 died in 30 days of the current month.
