US official Richard Nephew due in Dhaka tonight
Richard Nephew, coordinator of the US State Department’s Global Anti-Corruption Division, is coming to Dhaka tonight (August 6).
He visited many countries of the world after taking charge as the coordinator of the US State Department’s Global Anti-Corruption Division last year.
As part of his visit to South Asian regions, he is visiting Bangladesh. His job is to prevent money laundering and corruption.
During his stay in Bangladesh, Richard Nephew is scheduled to hold meetings with Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) chairman, foreign secretary and organizations working with preventing corruption.
An official associated with the ministry of foreign affairs said Richard Nephew’s Bangladesh visit is based on courtesy. He has keen interest to hold several meetings.
He is scheduled to leave Dhaka on Tuesday next.
