We will make medical university in every divisions

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, there was no medical university in our country. In 1996, the Awami League government came to power and established the first medical university. Now we have decided to make medical university in every divisions. Four medical universities have already been established.

He said this at the second graduation ceremony of Sheikh Fazilatun Nesha Mujib Memorial KPJ Nursing College on Wednesday (March 15) morning. The program was organized in the college premises of Tetuibari, Gazipur.

The Prime Minister said, we have promoted the nursing profession to the second class. We have made arrangements so that our children are more attracted to this service and are more engaged in important work. Along with that we have provided employment or jobs for nurses.

Referring to the fact that we have appointed about 40 thousand nurses, Sheikh Hasina said, age was not a factor but we have appointed 15 thousand nurses as experienced. So that they can provide the service. Along with that, I have also arranged for training.

He also said, we give importance to serving people. We have upgraded 23 nursing institutes to colleges. Another 16 nurse institutes are in the process of being upgraded to colleges. We are making medical colleges in every district. Along with this, nursing training is also being provided.

The Chief Minister said, we are also encouraging the private sector, they are also doing medical colleges and we are also giving importance to nursing training. There is a huge demand for nursing in different countries of the world, our country has a large population, we have hospitals, community clinics, maternity care centers in every district, upazila, we need more nurses in all areas.
