Saturday is the holy Eid-ul-Fitr
The moon of the month of Shawwal has been seen in the sky of the country. Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of Muslims, will be celebrated tomorrow, Saturday (April 22).
This decision was announced after the meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee at the meeting hall of Islamic Foundation in Baitul Mukarram on Friday evening. It was presided over by the President of the National Moon Sighting Committee and the Minister of State for Religious Affairs. Faridul Haque Khan.
Earlier, the National Moon Sighting Committee met at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque East Sahan at 6:45 PM (after Maghrib) to review the moon sighting news of the holy month of Shawwal.
Dhaka South City Corporation and the Ministry of Religion said that the main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr will be held at 8:30 am at the National Idgah Maidan adjacent to the High Court of Dhaka. People from various walks of life including the president, cabinet members, parliament members, politicians, diplomats will participate in that jamaat.
However, if the weather is unfavorable or if this congregation is not possible due to any other unavoidable reason, the main Eid congregation will be held at National Mosque Baitul Mukarram at 9 am. Meanwhile, like every year, five congregations will be held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque to offer Eid-ul-Fitr prayers.
The first congregation will be held at 7 am. And three congregations will be held at 8, 9 and 10 o'clock after one hour and the fifth and last congregation at 10:45 am.
