Rich countries should finance health sector: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called on rich countries to increase aid in the global health sector.
She said that the rich countries of the world should finance to ensure universal health care. Funds should be created for this. He said these things at an event on Smart Bangladesh at Hotel Intercontinental in the capital today (Thursday). He said that despite the challenge of large population in a small territory, Bangladesh has achieved success in ensuring healthcare. Ensuring food and nutrition security with treatment.
The Prime Minister said that the Awami League government has established 18,000 community clinics to ensure the health care of women and children in rural towns. It is difficult to ensure food and health services for such a large number of people in a small country, but the government is doing it smoothly.
He said that doctors should give more importance to research. So that the marginalized people get basic health care easily. At this time, the Prime Minister emphasized on increasing skilled manpower in medical science and medical technology.
He said that everyone has been vaccinated against Corona. Bangladesh has many successes in poverty alleviation. The poverty rate has been brought down to 18.7 percent.
