Ilisha is the 29th gas field of the country
Ilisha well in Bhola has been recognized as the 29th gas field in the country. On Monday, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid gave this information at a press conference held at his residence in Baridhara of the capital.
According to the geological data and DST report, the potential gas reserves of Elisha gas field are about 200 billion cubic feet (Bcf). Considering the daily average gas production rate of 20 million cubic feet, gas production from that well will be possible for 25-26 years.
Considering the mentioned reserves of gas in Elisha well, the estimated price of gas at the customer level is about Tk 6 thousand 744 crores.
As such, considering the gas reserve (200 billion cubic feet) in the Ilisha gas field as the current price of the international market, the estimated price of gas is about 26 thousand 750 crores.
It was also informed in the press conference that Bhola (Shahzadpur, Bhola North and Ilisha) together has 2.23 TCF gas reserves. 200 million cubic feet can be lifted daily from there.
The country's 29th gas field, Ilisha-1, started drilling on March 9 this year and ended on April 14.
