GCC polls : Zayda Khatun on the way to victory

People all over the country are watching the results of the Gazipur City Corporation elections. Total 480 centers in the election. The election commission has published the results of 450 centres. Independent candidate Zayeda Khatun got 2 lakh 05 thousand 413 votes in table clock symbol.

And Awami League nominated candidate Azmat Ulla got 1 lakh 85 thousand 379 votes in boat symbol. That is, Zayeda Khatun is leading by 20 thousand 34 votes.

Earlier on Thursday, voting started from 8 am in Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). Voting ends at 4 pm.

Awami League nominated candidate Advocate Azmat Ulla Khan voted in Gazipur City Corporation election at Darus Salam Madrasa Center on Arichpur Mosque Road in Tongir at around 9:15 am on Thursday.

Talking to reporters after voting, he said, "I can say from the love of the people that victory and defeat are decided by Allah." I believe, judgment is from heaven. Allah will reveal what He wills through the people. '
Azmat Ulla Khan said, 'People have been standing in line at the polling station since morning in a festive atmosphere. So a fair and free election is going to be held in Gazipur. I will definitely accept any result of the vote. I am a political activist, Bangladesh Awami League is a democratic political party. I have always shown respect to people's opinion. I will definitely accept whoever the people choose today. I have always been with the people as a political activist. '

Zayeda Khatun, mother of former Gazipur City Mayor Jahangir Alam, cast her vote at Kanaya Government Primary School center after 10 am. At that time his son Jahangir Alam also voted.

After voting, Zayda Khatun said her agents were barred from entering various polling stations. So far the election environment is good, if there is a fair vote, I will accept whatever the election result is.

Meanwhile, on Thursday afternoon, the EC directed the arrest of two persons after monitoring the Gazipur City polls on CCTV from the capital's Agargaon election building.
