Hero Alam to be candidate in Dhaka-17

Hero Alam will be a candidate in the by-election in the seat of late actor Farooq (Dhaka-17).  He said this on Monday morning.

He said, 'Today at 3 pm I will buy the nomination form from the Election Commission. Farooq bhai is a great hero. His departure is a great loss for us. Many of its development works remain unfinished. I want to finish those works.'

In response to the question why the people of Dhaka should vote for you, Hero Alam said, 'I am loved by the people of the whole country. I came to this situation with great difficulty.

I want to prove how much people love me by electing in Dhaka. I believe the voters of Dhaka will also vote for me.

When asked whether he will be a candidate from Dhaka in the next national elections, Hero Alam said, 'I will not contest from Dhaka but from Bogra in the national elections.'

Earlier, Hero Alam participated in the by-elections of Bogra-4 and Bogra-6 constituencies last February. He lost a lot of votes in Bogra-6 constituency but was defeated by Awami League supported Jasdar candidate in Bogra-4 constituency by only 834 votes.  Dhaka-17 by-election will be held on July 17.
