No reports of irregularities in SCC polls: Election Commission
Election Commissioner Rashida Sultana this morning said the commission has not found any allegations of election irregularities so far in the Rajshahi and Sylhet city corporation polls.
The elections in Rajshahi and Sylhet began at 8:00am this morning and will continue till 4:00pm without any break. "Law enforcement agencies are performing their duties well and there is no report of any irregularities," Rashida told reporters at the EC office around 10:30am.
The chief election commissioner and other commissioners are monitoring the polls through CCTV cameras from the EC office. Rashida said so far, the overall voter turnout was pretty good. In some cases, there was a lower turnout than expected due to rainfall.
She also said there were no problems with the electronic voting machines. There was a problem at one place in Rajshahi, but it was fixed, she said.
