Tarique, Zubaida to file appeal after returning home
BNP acting Chairperson Tarique Rahman and his wife Zubaida Rahman will file an appeal petition against a graft case verdict after returning home. They will not now file any appeal petition.
Their lawyer Masum Ahmed Talukder said this on Wednesday in a reaction after a Dhaka court sentenced Tarique Rahman to nine years’ imprisonment and his wife Zubaida Rahman to three years in the graft case on charges of amassing illegal wealth and concealing information.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Asaduzzaman handed down the verdict.
The case was filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) during the military-controlled interim government in 2007.
