President-Prime Minister Tribute at Memorial on Independence Day
On the 53rd anniversary of the great freedom, the President paid floral tributes to the brave martyrs. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. On Sunday (March 26) at 5:56 in the morning, the head of state and the head of government paid their respects at the National Memorial in the first hour of the day.
The President first paid his respects at the Savare memorial near Dhaka. Right after the President, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the sun children of the nation. Then they stood there in silence for a minute. At this time a group of armed forces gave the state salute and the bugle sounded a mournful tune. Later party president Sheikh Hasina paid tribute with flowers on behalf of Awami League as party chief.
Meanwhile, after paying tribute, the President signed the visitation book of the memorial. Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad, Minister of Liberation War Affairs, Cabinet Secretary, Chief of three armed forces and diplomats of various countries posted in Dhaka were present at the memorial. After the Head of State and Government pay their respects, the memorial is opened to the general public to pay their respects.
