BNP wants caretaker government guaranteed to win elections

Awami League General Secretary and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has commented that BNP wants such a caretaker government that will guarantee victory in the elections.

He made this comment during an exchange of views with journalists on contemporary issues in the conference room of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges at the Secretariat on Wednesday (March 29).

BNP has been saying every day that they will not participate in the elections without a caretaker government. So whether the election will be participatory without a big party - Obaidul Quader said in response to the question of the journalists, "The election will be held according to the constitution of Bangladesh." Elections will be held like other democratic countries of the world. They (BNP) will find caretaker government only in Pakistan. That is not a good example for democracy.'

He said, "BNP has made the caretaker government a partisan issue. That was in the 2001 election. The caretaker government was taken to the state in that election, what happened without taking oath in Bangabhaban, except for 13 secretaries!'

"They want a biased partisan caretaker government," said the Awami League general secretary. Claiming that we are better than many, he said, even if the price of goods has increased, we are better than many. After the Russia-Ukraine war, commodity prices around the world are increasing by leaps and bounds.

In response to the question whether a chicken of 150 taka becomes 25 taka in another country in one night, the minister said, "This happens in England too." There are rules in these irregularities. The expedition must be carried out. When Ramadan comes, during this time dishonest traders do manipulations. These issues are not new in our country. It has happened before and it is still happening. But it is not that the government is sitting silently. The government is fulfilling its responsibilities. Action is taking.

Obaidul Quader, when asked why the results are not coming despite so many initiatives against the syndicate, said that if the results were not obtained, it could not be said that Bangladesh is better than many others. US Secretary of State, President of Russia, President of China, Joe Biden's statement about Bangladesh and the government. They hope for a fair election. At the same time, it also said that the way Bangladesh is going, Bangladesh will emerge as a regional leader very quickly. Are these praises in Bangladesh from zero?

He also said, if the progress is stopped in Bangladesh, why do the leaders of the big countries of the world praise Bangladesh? Are they irrelevant? They do from the air?
