Digital security law case against Prothom Alo editor
Prothom Alo editor and publisher Matiur Rahman, reporter Shamsuzzaman Shams and an associate cameraman along with unnamed others have been booked under the Digital Security Act.
The case was registered at Ramna police station on Wednesday night. Around 2 o'clock in the night, the Ramna police station informed about the case.
According to the preliminary information of the case, the case was filed at 11:00 pm. Lawyer Abdul Malek Moshiur Malek (61) filed the case under the Digital Security Act.
Malek accused the case of using print, online and electronic media to malign the image and reputation of the state.
The preliminary information statement of the case further states that the accused have deliberately spread false information to undermine law and order.
The case was filed under Sections 25, 31 and 35 of the Digital Security Act.
