Cyclone may hit in April
One to two low pressure areas are likely to form in the Bay of Bengal this month, one of which may develop into a cyclone, the Meteorological Department said.
This information is given in the long-term forecast for the month of April.
It has also been said that there is a possibility of normal rainfall in this month, there is a possibility of 3-5 days of light or moderate thunderstorm and 1-2 days of severe monsoon storm in the country.
2-3 mild or moderate heat waves may also occur in this month. Day and night temperatures may be normal during this month.
Regarding the condition of the rivers, it has been said in the forecast, in view of the possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall in the northeastern region of the country and adjacent upstream in the latter half of April, a short-term flash flood situation may occur in the northeastern region of the country. Normal flow may prevail in all major rivers of the country.
How was March?
In March, rainfall was above normal (+77.6%) across the country. In this month, the highest temperature recorded in the country was 37 degree Celsius (at Sitakund and Rangamati) while the lowest temperature was recorded at 13.30 degree Celsius at Srimangal. In this month, the highest and lowest temperature of the country is 0.20 degrees Celsius respectively. And 0.10 degrees C. More and the average temperature across the country is 0.10 degrees Celsius was more.
