Sultan`s Dine cleared of the complaint by the consumer department

The National Directorate of Consumer Rights has recommended that Sultan's Dine, which sells kacchi-biryani, be exempted from allegations of using meat from other animals instead of khasi.

On Monday (March 13), the assistant director of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection said. This recommendation was made in a report signed by Abdul Jabbar Mandal.

According to the report, on March 9, Gulshan-2 branch of the accused organization Sultan's Dine was investigated on the ground from approximately 4:15 to 4:30. Today on March 13, the GM, AGM and manager of that branch attended the hearing and gave oral and written statements on behalf of the accused organization. On spot investigation and review of oral and written statements of the accused, the following information is available.

1) Doa Gost Bitan of the accused parents procures Khasi meat through a vendor called Kaptan Bazar.

2) Representatives of accused organizations are sometimes present during Khasi slaughtering in Kaptan Bazar.

3) The meat reaches the accused establishment at the vendor's own risk.

4) On March 9, the manager of the accused establishment verbally informed about the collection of 150 kg of goat meat. But the vendor informed about the supply of 125 kg.

5) Regarding the suspected lean bones, the accused said that they use 7 to 9 kg meat of goat and these goat bones are lean because of their small size.

6) The mobile number from which the complaint was made to the accused establishment is found to be switched off.

At the end of the report, it was recommended that Sultan's Dine, the accused company, could be cleared of using meat from animals other than Khasi as the consumption of meat from animals other than Khasi was not proved beyond doubt.

Earlier, in a press conference organized at the National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate on Monday afternoon, Director General of the Directorate AHM Safikuzzaman said, 'We cannot give any opinion about Sultan's Dine. Because we don't have any samples and don't have the opportunity to test. It will be tested by the Food Safety Authority. You will know if you talk to them.'

He said, 'We raided and did not find any violations according to the law that day. We raided many restaurants and found many violations of the law. But that day we got nothing.'
