I will do everything for fair elections : President
Newly elected President Md. Sahabuddin said, I will do whatever I can as a President to organize a fair, participatory and acceptable national election.
He said this on Sunday (April 16) at the official handing over of his book 'Egye Jao Bangladesh' at Gulshan in the capital.
He said, I will do what I can as the president for a neutral, participatory and acceptable national parliament election.
The National Assembly elections are ahead...everyone is saying that the election will be very crucial, but I think it is not crucial.
The newly elected president said that the country has a constitution. No need to worry.
He hoped that according to the constitution of the country, the Independent Election Commission (EC) would be able to conduct a neutral, participatory and acceptable national election in the light of the constitution by exercising their maximum independence.
Expressed immense gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for nominating him as President. He also thanked all concerned including the Awami League advisory board and executive committee.
This afternoon in Gulshan of the capital, the book was officially published by the newly elected President Bir Muktijoddha. Sahabuddin was handed over.
While commenting about the book, he said, the book rich in various eventful essays, 'Agiye Jabe Bangladesh', has been spread on the pages of the book from childhood to the whole life; Struggle, politics, liberation war, prison life, work life, family life, ideology and everything.
In this book of 204 pages, some rare and historical photographs of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman have been added. He also expressed his gratitude to all concerned including future publishers and researchers for publishing the book.
The newly elected President said that the book includes the homecoming of Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the struggle to establish democracy, various steps taken as the head of state, formation of digital Bangladesh, dealing with the corona crisis, construction of Padma Bridge and Metrorail, implementation of Rooppur nuclear power plant, various development activities including Smart Bangladesh program and state leaders. Seven columns written on the issue of establishing a bright image of Bangladesh in the world.
He is scheduled to take oath as the 22nd President at Bangabhaban at 11 am on April 24.
