Bangladesh A take on Windies A in Sylhet today
Bangladesh A team will take on their West Indies counterparts in the first of the three four-day matches at the Sylhet International Cricket stadium from Tuesday.
Joshua Da Silva will lead the 15-member Caribbean side, which include a few players with Test match experience -- the likes of left-handed opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul, left-handed all-rounder Raymon Reifer, pacer Anderson Phillip, and left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie.
Bangladesh, led by Afif Hossain, also feature a strong team with a blend of youth and experience.
The Tigers national team selector Habibul Bashar previously informed they will keenly observe the performers in this series before announcing the national squad for the upcoming one-off Test against Afghanistan at home.
Thus, batters such as Zakir Hasan, Shadman Islam, Saif Hasan, and Mohammad Naim would be eyeing a return to national side, while youngsters in Shahadat Hossain Dipu, Mushfique Hasan, Ripon Mondol and others would want to make an impression as well.
Sylhet will also host the second and third four-day "Tests", slated for May 16 and 30, respectively.
