Shakib in practice after reaching Sylhet

The Bangladesh team did not get much rest after the England series. The Tigers arrived in Sylhet a couple of days ago to play a three-match ODI series against Ireland. However, Shakib Al Hasan was not with the team at that time. This experienced all-rounder joined the team at eleven o'clock this morning.

After the T20 series against England, Shakib went to the United Arab Emirates for business promotion. The Bangladeshi all-rounder attended the opening ceremony of a gold showroom in Dubai yesterday.

Meanwhile, Zakir Hasan, who was waiting for his debut, was dropped from the team before the start of the series. Zakir got injured while batting in the nets during optional practice in Sylhet. He was dropped from the ODI team due to a tear in his left thumb.

Rony Talukder has been called up in place of Zakir. The top-order batsman returned to the national team after 8 years with T20 and is now waiting for his ODI debut. Rony, who was suddenly called up to the team, joined the team in Sylhet this morning.

Bangladesh-Ireland will play the first match of the three-match ODI series at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on March 18.
