There is good news about Shakib Al Hasan, the Test and T20 captain of the national team, who is out of the field due to injury. He can be seen in the field from the ODI series even if he cannot play in the only Test against Afghanistan. Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) doctor Debashis Chowdhury gives such good news.
After spending time with his family in the United States, Shakib returned home. He was also seen at the Mirpur stadium on Thursday (June 8). It looks like he is practicing with his teammates in the camp. Even though he did not recover, he encouraged his companions to practice in the hot weather.
On this day it was known about Shakib's X-ray report. That report is satisfactory. The ODI series against Afghanistan will begin in early July. Before that, Shakib is getting about a month's time, in which time he can get himself fully fit easily.
BCB doctor Debashis Chowdhury said, “I saw the X-ray. It looks good. We are hopeful that he will be able to play in the ODI series.”
Shakib's injury is no longer a cause for despair. The main challenge is regaining fitness. According to Debashis, “Fitness must be fixed first. That is the main challenge. And there won't be much problem with fracture. It was a simple fracture. I will start rehab in one or two days.”
