Bangladesh women’s team announced for Asian Games

Bangladesh Football Federation on Tuesday announced the 22-member women’s squad for the 19th Asian Games scheduled to be held in Hangzhou, China, from September 20 to October 8.

Japan-born Bangladeshi descent forward Matsushima Sumaya, who made her debut for the national side on July 13, got her place in the squad that will represent Bangladesh in the Games women’s football for the first time.

The 22-year-old, Sumaya, became the first Bangladeshi descent overseas female footballer to make an international debut for the country when Bangladesh played the first match of the recently concluded two-match FIFA friendly series at home against Nepal.
