ODI captaincy: BCB likely to declare name by Aug 12
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is yet to finalise new captain for one day match to succeed Tamim Iqbal.
Cricket operations committee chairman Jalal Yunus, however, submitted a brief list to this end. The list includes names of Shakib al Hasan, Liton Das and Mehedi Miraz.
After an emergency meeting on Tuesday, Jalal Yunus talked to journalists.
He said, “Those who are eligible for captaincy are in discussions. Still, we have not finalised the matter. The captain nominees have not been consulted yet. We will talk to them. The list we have made includes Shakib al Hasan, Liton Das and Mehedi Miraz.”
The BCB will declare the name of captain for ODI by August 12. At first, captain will be selected for the Asia Cup and then World Cup, Jalal added.
