Asia Cup : Pakistan won by 238 runs
Pakistan won the opening match of the 16th Asia Cup by a huge margin of 238 runs. Pakistan won by a big margin by crushing Nepal by 104 runs, who got the chance to play for the first time in the tournament.
Pakistan won the toss and batted first at the Multan Stadium on Wednesday. On this day, Pakistan scored 342 runs for 6 wickets thanks to the double centuries of captain Babar Azam and Iftekhar Ahmed.
Babar Azam scored 151 runs off 131 balls with 14 fours and 4 sixes for the team. Iftekhar Ahmed played an impeccable innings of 109 runs with the help of 11 fours and 4 sixes off 71 balls. Besides, Mohammad Rizwan scored 44 runs off 50 balls.
Nepal started losing wickets from the beginning of the innings, falling to the mountain of 343 runs and falling under the bowling cannon of Pakistan. Due to falling wickets at regular intervals, Nepal were all out for 104 runs in 23.4 overs. Sospal Kami and Arif Sheikh scored maximum 28 and 26 runs for the team.
Shadab Khan took 4 wickets for 27 runs in 6.4 overs for Pakistan. Pacer Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf took two wickets each. Mohammad Nawaz and Naseem Shah took one wicket each.
