Asia Cup 2023 : Bangladesh to 334 runs for 5 wickets
Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Najmul Hossain Shanto's tonnes helped Bangladesh to post a huge total of 334 runs for 5 wickets in 50 overs in the fourth match of the Asia Cup 2023.
Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and decided to bat first against Afghanistan in the 4th Match of Group B of Asia Cup 2023 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Pakistan. Shamim Hossain Patwari made his debut for the Tigers.
Mohammad Naim and Mehidy Hasan Miraz opened the innings for Bangladesh. They gave a flying start to Bangladesh before Naim got out for 28 off Mujeebur Rahman. Towhid Hridoy (0) got out in the very next overs of the innings to let Bangladesh under pressure.
But Shanto and Miraz's took the helm on their shoulders and added 194 off 190 balls before Miraz retired hurt scoring 112 off 119 balls, his innings studded with 7 fours and 3 sixes.
Shanto also got out after scoring his second ODI hundred. He got run out scoring 104 off 105, his innings adorned with 9 fours and 2 sixes.
Late blitz from skipper Shakib Al Hasan (32 off 18) and Mushfiqur Rahim (25 off 15) take Bangladesh to 334/5 after 50 overs.
For Afghanistan, Gulbadin Naib and Mujeeb Ur Rahman picked up one wicket each.
