Miraz-Shanto enter their names on Gaddafi Stadium honours board
Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehedi Hasan Miraz entered their names on the Gaddafi Stadium honours board after the duo each struck a century to help Bangladesh beat Afghanistan by 89 runs in their Asia Cup fixture on Sunday.
Shanto and Miraz became the 42nd and 43rd cricketers, respectively, to register hundreds at the Gaddafi stadium. Both were seen putting their names on the board.
Courtesy of Miraz and Shanto, Bangladesh have practically confirmed their Super Four spot in the tournament.
Shanto and Miraz added a record unbeaten 194 runs for the third-wicket stand to put up a mammoth 334 for five before bundling out Afghanistan for 245 runs.
Miraz, who struck his second ODI hundred after having been promoted to open the innings, was retired hurt after scoring 112 off 119 deliveries, striking seven fours and three sixes.
Shanto also registered his second ODI ton. The left hander followed up his 89-run knock against Sri Lanka to score 104 off 105 balls, laced with nine fours and two sixes.
It was Bangladesh's second ODI at the Gaddafi Stadium, followed by the 2008 fixture.
