Asia Cup : Bangladesh set Pakistan 194-run target

The fear of speed was already present. It was chanted in the minds of the cricketers as well. Mehdi Hasan Miraj's out is not explained in anything else. Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim gave hope after losing four wickets in the power play. But their return was disappointing. Neither could carry the innings till the end. The next batters could not increase the team's runs. Bangladesh's batting line-up is all-out against Pakistan's pace bowlers.

Bangladesh set a target of 194 runs against Pakistan in the Asia Cup Super Four match in Lahore. After winning the toss and going to bat, they lost all the wickets and made this run.

Bangladesh's disappointment started in the second over of the innings. In the previous match, Mehedi Hasan Miraj, who came in to play as a make shift opener, scored a century. He was dropped as the opening batsman in this match as well. But after Naeem Sheikh bowled a maiden in the first over, Mirage got out on the first ball he faced in the second over. He unexpectedly caught the ball coming to the pad square leg.

Liton Das, who missed the previous two matches due to fever, returned to the XI. He also played some great shots when he came to the wicket. But he stepped into Shaheen Shah Afridi's trap. After playing a few balls with the bat, with slower, he bounced on the force. Not understanding that, the ball hit the edge of Liton's bat and went into the gloves of wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan. He scored 16 runs in 13 balls with 4 fours to get out.

Naeem Sheikh also looked confident in some shots. But even this batter could not increase the innings. He scored 20 runs off 25 balls in 4 fours and went to pool off Haris Rauf. The timing was not right, Rauf took an easy catch himself. After that, Tawheed Hridyo was defeated by the speed of Haris Rauf. He became bowled by scoring 2 runs off 9 balls.

Two experienced batsmen Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan slowly pulled the team that lost 4 wickets in the power play. Both were leading the team very well. The hope was also increasing for a big run. Shakib's half century was completed with the pair's hundred. But then Shakib got confused. Pulling the ball near his stomach, he took the catch at backward square leg. Shakib scored 53 runs off 57 balls before being dismissed by Fahim Ashraf.
