BAN vs IRE : Bangladesh is fielding, Tamim is playing
After the ODI and T20 mission, the Bangladesh team faced Ireland in the only test. Tamim Iqbal, who is busy due to his son's illness, remains in the playing XI despite concerns. Shakib Al Hasan's team will field first after losing the toss.
Today (April 4) the match started at 10 am in Mirpur Sher-i Bangla. The hosts have arranged eleven with 6 bowlers. Rezaur Raja got a chance to replace Taskin Ahmed who was ruled out of this match due to injury. However, Raja, who is awaiting debut, was not kept in the XI.
On the other hand, the visiting Irish have introduced 6 cricketers in this match. Ireland was absent from this edition since July 2019.
Earlier, Ireland had six Test playing experience in this team, but George Dockrell is not in today's XI. Test debuts for Murray Cummins, Harry Tector, Curtis Campher, Lorcan Tucker, Graham Hume and Ben White. Leg-spinner White has never played a first-class match before.
This is the last match of the tour of the Irish who came to play a full series with Bangladesh. They have lost both the ODI and T20 series held earlier. Tamim's team won both the ODI matches held in Sylhet by a big margin. Another match was washed away by rain. Shakib later won the first two of the three T20s in Chittagong. As a result, Bangladesh had another whitewash opportunity in this format after the English. However, Paul Sterley's team got a comfortable victory with a great comeback in the match.
