Lampard is Chelsea`s coach for the second time

Former player Frank Lampard, who was sacked 19 months ago, has been given the role of coach again by Chelsea. However, in the second round, this former English footballer has been appointed for an interim period. Chelsea recently sacked their previous coach Graham Potter, who have been struggling throughout the season.

Chelsea gave this information in a statement on the website on April 6. Whereas Lampard, who has been rumored for a few days, has been given responsibility for the rest of the season.

Before that, Lampard served as the Blues coach for 19 months in the first phase. Later, in January 2021, he was sacked by the party. Then he took charge of another English club Everton in January 2022. He was then removed last January. Potter came in charge of Chelsea after Lampard.

However, the former club and English champions were having a bad time recently under Potter. As a result, the team moved to the 11th place in the table with 39 points in 29 matches with 10 wins and 9 draws. But last January, they brought in new players for around £300 million. However, their fate did not change. Potter was fired last Sunday due to the continuous failure of the team.

Lampard's main goal in his temporary charge at Chelsea will be to get the team back into orbit in the league. The 44-year-old Lampard's first assignment will be next Sunday. Their opponents in the league match are Wolverhampton Wanderers. Chelsea's next test is against Real Madrid in the last eight of the Champions League. The first leg will be played on April 12 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
