FIFA bans BFF general secretary Shohag for 2 years
Bangladesh Football Federation in discussion for the last few days. This time, the ban came down for Abu Naim Sohag, general secretary of the organization.
Football's highest governing body FIFA banned him from all activities for two years. Besides, he was also fined about 12 lakhs in Bangladeshi currency. FIFA said this in a press release on Friday.
Earlier, Abu Naeem Sohag personally went to the FIFA headquarters in Zurich to respond to the show cause notice for financial irregularities. But he could not save himself. FIFA gave him a two-year ban through the Independent Ethics Committee. Apart from him, FIFA issued show cause notices to two other officials earlier.
The main complaint against Abu Naeem Sohag is that he has shown wrong documents to show the expenditure of money given by FIFA. FIFA said in its notification that it has given this punishment after hearing and analyzing data.
Sohag has been accused of breaching General Articles 15 (neglect of duty), 15 (honesty) and 24 (giving false information). This decision has been communicated to Abu Naeem Sohag. Copies sent to Buff and AFC.
