Tigers whitewash England cricket team
Bangladesh had already secured the series by winning the first two matches. The Tigers gave the British a taste of Banglawash (whitewash) after losing by 16 runs in the last match. Bangladesh achieved such a feat for the first time against the English in any format of cricket.
Even on a busy day, there was no place to hold sesame seeds in the gallery of Mirpur. The famous Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, the home of cricket, is covered in red and green. Shakib Al Hasan did not disappoint the fans who came to the field with hope. After many days, Athar Ali's voice heard that famous utterance 'Banglawash' again.
In the final match of the series, the Tigers are aiming to whitewash the visiting Englishmen. Litton (73) and Shanta (47) shine with the bat today. The hosts scored 158 runs for 2 wickets with their bat. In response, England can score 142 runs in 20 overs. Bangladesh wins by 16 runs.
English captain Jos Buttler won the toss and sent Bangladesh into bat. Bangladesh got off to a good start when they came to bat. 55 runs came from the impeccable opening pair of the two openers Liton Das and Rony Talukder.
Catch misses and bad fielding practice the visitors lost time and again. In the sixth over of the innings, young spinner Rehan Ahmed missed Roni's easy catch at short third man by Archer.
Although Roni could not use it after getting life. He was dismissed by Adil Rashid after scoring 24 runs off 22 balls.
At the other end, Litton stormed. After the ODI against England, he was not able to benefit with the bat even in the T20. He came out of the shell in the last match. Liton completed his half century in 8 boundaries by playing 41 balls.
After the fifty, he focused on scoring quick runs. Although could not go far. Chris was caught by Salt at deep midwicket while pulling a short ball from Jordan. Before that he played 57 balls and scored 73 runs with 10 fours and one six. This is his career-best innings in T20 Internationals.
Meanwhile, after Ronnie's return, Shanta, who went down one down, still batted well. He remained unbeaten with 47 runs off 36 balls with 2 sixes and 1 four.
In the end, the runs in Bangladesh's innings were a little less. Shakib who entered the field after falling 2 wickets could not do well with the bat today. At the end of the scheduled 20 overs, Bangladesh collected 158 runs, losing 2 wickets.
Chasing the target, the visitors lost their wicket in the first over. But then Buttler and Malan formed a great pair and almost took the match out. But in Taskin-Mustafiz's 'turning around' bowling, it was Bangladesh who bowled last.
In the first over of England's innings, the anointed Tanveer Islam struck the first blow by returning Salt for zero runs. This is his first wicket in international cricket.
After defeating Salt by 5 runs, the English turned around with the bat of Malan-Butler. Especially David Malan batted brilliantly from the start. He took half century in 43 balls.
Jos Buttler and Malan's fifty-run partnership for the second wicket saw England dreaming of an easy win. They scored 100 runs losing only one wicket.
However, pacer Mustafiz gave Bangladesh an important breakthrough at the time of need. He returned Malan who scored 53 runs. Malan was caught by Liton with the bat as Mustafiz jumped.
Buttler also got run out on the next ball of Malan's return. Mehdi Hasan Miraj ran him out with a great direct throw. The English captain returned with 40 runs.
Bangladesh returned to the match by returning two sets of batters in the same over. On the contrary, England lost control of the match.
After that, Taskin Ahmed did not let Moin Ali survive for long. Taskin returned this all-rounder who scored 9 runs to Mirage's catch. Taskin also bowled Ben Duckett in the last ball of the same over. As a result, England went from 100 for 2 wickets to 123 for 5 wickets.
England needed 36 runs to win in the last 3 overs. In the 18th over, Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan returned Sam Karan with the first ball.
After that the tail row batters tried but England could not return to the match. In the end, after 20 overs, the visitors lost 6 wickets and scored 142 runs.
