Virat Kohli slapped with ₹24 lakh fine by IPL
Virat Kohli led RCB in the last match against Rajasthan Royals due to injury to regular captain Faf du Plessis. Kohli's team also won the match. But even on the day of victory, a large amount of money had to be counted. Captain Kohli has been fined Rs 24 lakh due to the slow-over rate. Besides, the rest have also been fined. 25 percent of the match fee has been deducted.
Last Sunday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Kohli was unable to complete the over within the stipulated time. A BCCI notification confirmed the fine.
Kohli has been fined Rs 24 lakh for his team's second offense under the IPL's minimum over-rate code of conduct, and Rs 6 lakh for each member of the XI or 25 per cent of the match percentage for impact replacements, the release said.
Earlier, Kohli had to pay a fine in the current IPL. He was fined 10 percent against Chennai Super Kings.
