Kohli`s world record surpasses Mushfiqur
Mushfiqur Rahim had the record of highest runs in T20 at one venue so far. However, Virat Kohli broke that record on his way to scoring a half century against Kolkata Knight Riders yesterday.
Kohli has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore since the beginning of the IPL. The top order batsman has played a lot of matches at the home ground of the franchise. Moreover, Kohli has also played T20 on this ground for the national team. In total, he has scored 3 thousand 15 runs in this field in T20. Which is the highest collection by any cricketer in one field in the history of T20 cricket.
Kohli went behind Mushfiqur Rahim's 2 thousand 989 runs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur to achieve this record. There are two more Bangladeshis in the top five of this list. Mahmudullah Riyad is third with 2 thousand 813 runs in Mirpur. Tamim Iqbal is fifth with 2 thousand 706 runs in the same field.
The only other person in the top five on this list is Alex Hales. This English opener scored 2 thousand 749 runs in Nottingham.
