Diarrhea outbreak in Habiganj, 300 patients affected
In one month, 350 diarrhea patients were admitted to Upazila Health Complex and received treatment. Due to the lack of vacant seats, many diarrhea patients are given medical care on the floor, but in reality, the picture of diarrhea sufferers in the upazila is different.
Hundreds of people of different ages have been treated for diarrhea in the pharmacies and clinics of the local market. However, no deaths due to diarrhea have been reported so far. This picture is from Madhavpur Upazila of Habiganj. A sudden outbreak of diarrhea has occurred in the wake of massive fires and a shortage of fresh water.
A relative of a patient suffering from diarrhea complained that they had to buy medicines and saline from the market without getting them from the hospital.
Madhavpur Upazila Health Officer AHM Ishtiaq Mamun said that numerous patients suffering from diarrhea are coming for treatment at the outdoor-indoor hospital every day. There is no shortage of saline and medicine in the hospital. All diarrhea patients are being given treatment and prescriptions from the hospital. Bacterial infection, viral infection, parasites in water and food, food poisoning are the causes of diarrhea infection.
