Auditor demanded bribe by discounting the salary of the teachers

To the newly appointed 32 primary school assistant teachers in Juri, Moulvibazar district the auditor of the upazila accounting office claimed bribe Md. Amir Hussain. To find out about this on Thursday (March 16) morning, I went to the upazila accounting office and found that the accused audit officer Md. Amir Hossain and SAS superintendent Md. are absent from the office without leave. Chalik Ahmad Chowdhury.

It is known that 32 assistant teachers were appointed from the upazila after passing the written and viba of the last primary assistant teacher recruitment. After receiving the appointment, they joined at the end of January. After joining, the file of salary form and service book was sent from the upazila education office to the upazila accounting office on February 27 to determine their salary. Even though 18 days have passed since the files were sent, the salary files of the newly appointed teachers are stuck in the Accounts Office due to non-payment of the demanded bribe money. Although there is extreme disappointment among the teachers, many are reluctant to open their mouths for fear of harassment.

However, on condition of anonymity, several newly appointed teachers said, we will not pay bribe under any circumstances. We got government jobs on our merit and merit. We do not want to advance in this great profession like teaching with bribe money. We are determined to build Bangladesh free from government corruption and build Smart Bangladesh of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The team leader of the newly appointed teachers, who did not wish to be named, said that the files of all of us from the upazila education office have been sent to the upazila accounting office long ago. We contacted upazila accounting office as the files from the accounting office were late in coming to the education office. Then the auditor of the upazila accounting office. Amir Hossain told us that there are many problems in our files. He demanded a bribe of 500 taka per person and a total of 16 thousand taka from all of us to solve all the problems. But we teachers are not willing to release the file by bribe.

Several teachers who did not wish to reveal their names said that more than 500 rupees have been demanded from us. If you want to release the file, you have to pay money.

Amir Hossain, the auditor of the upazila accounting office accused of the complaint, said that the matter of asking for bribe is false. However, there is a delay in the release of files due to many problems in the files. When asked about absence from office without leave, he said, Upazila Accounting Officer (Additional Duty) Bilku Tarafdar sent me to Moulvibazar for office work. i am at work

Upazila Accounting Office SAS Superintendent. Chalik Ahmad Chowdhury said, I took leave yesterday due to illness. In this regard, Upazila Accounting Officer (Additional Duty) Bilku Tarafdar said on the phone, I am working in Rajnagar Upazila.

A few days ago I got the additional responsibility of Juri Upazila. I am not aware of the bribery claim. But I will look into it. When asked about the absence of two office officials without leave, he said that none of them took leave in writing. However, auditor Amir Hossain called me this morning saying he was ill. On the other hand, the SAS superintendent said about the illness. Chalik Ahmad Chowdhury took leave yesterday.

In addition, the accused auditor Amir Hossain has been accused of trading percentages of bribes in various bill passes including various government offices of the upazila, upazila engineering department, contractors, etc. under various pretexts.
