35 passengers injured after bus accident in Juri
35 passengers were injured when a bus of Sihab Dairy Farm Paribahan lost control and fell into a ditch at Juri in Moulvibazar district. Passengers injured in this accident were rescued and sent to Upazila Health Complex and local private hospitals for treatment.
The accident took place on Sunday (May 7) at 4:30 pm in the area adjacent to Continala Bridge on the Moulvibazar to Biyanibazar regional highway of the upazila.
The non-stop bus that was involved in the accident was going to Baralekha with passengers from Moulvibazar.
It is known that a bus of Sihab Dairy Farm Transport was going to Baralekha with about 40 to 50 passengers from Moulvibazar. whose registration number is Moulvibazar-J 11-0181. After reaching the accident area around 4:30 pm, the bus lost control and fell into a ditch on the side of the road.
After the accident, local residents rescued 30/35 injured passengers and sent them to different local private hospitals including Upazila Health Complex.
After receiving the information, a unit of Kulaura Fire Service went to the spot, searched the car, recovered the belongings of the passengers and handed them over to the police.
Efforts are underway to rescue the bus involved in the accident. The driver and assistant of the bus are absconding with injuries since the accident.
Shahara Begum (50) of Shilua village of Juri upazila, Noor Islam (55) of Harirampur village, Abdus Salam (80) of Jalalpur village and Shankari Biswas (26) of Cholarkuli village of Baralekha upazila were seriously injured in the incident and have been sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for better treatment. .
Confirming the accident, police station SI Sirajul Islam said that after the accident, the injured were rescued and sent to the hospital.
During the conversation, Medical Officer of Juri Upazila Health Complex, Dr. Farhana Rahman said, first aid was provided to the injured in the bus accident. 4 seriously injured people have been sent to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
