Bishwambarpur is becoming landless
As part of the implementation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's promise that 'not a single person will be homeless or landless in Bangladesh', Bishwambarpur Upazila of the district is getting recognition as a homeless and landless area. On March 22, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will declare this upazila homeless and landless upazila. On that day, 184 houses built in the third and fourth phase will be handed over the certificate and certificate of title. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate this distribution program virtually. 2 lakh 84 thousand 500 taka was allocated for these houses.
In Bishwambarpur upazila, the construction program for the landless and homeless (class A) started on December 1 of last year under the shelter project-2. A total of 681 families including 150 in 1st stage, 60 in 2nd stage, 359 in 3rd stage and 112 in 4th stage were resettled in single houses and 50 families were resettled in semi-paved barracks by Bangladesh Army. A total of 731 families were rehabilitated.
204 families in Fatepur Union, 52 in Palash Union, 173 in Salukabad Union, 201 in Badaghat (D:) Union and 101 in Dhanpur Union of Biswambharpur Upazila have been resettled through the shelter project. The resettled families have been provided various facilities including free uninterrupted electricity connection, 1 tubewell for every 10 families by the Department of Public Health Engineering, free fertilizer and seeds by the Department of Agriculture Extension.
Moshat Tajeda, the husband of Baghmara village in the upazila, said, "I would have lived in an Ilakhan house, but I was not even imagining it." Nepal Burman of Lakshipur village said, "Sheikh's daughter's daughter's lagi baichcha-kaichcha laiya matha gujar thai ailo".
Biswambharpur upazila executive officer. Rahim Jadid of Sadiur said that land and houses have been constructed by the government in 731 families in the upazila. On March 22, Hon'ble Prime Minister will declare Biswambharpur upazila as the first upazila of the district to be landless and homeless free. Homeless-landless people are getting semi-paved houses of tin sheds on two hundred plots of land. 2 lakh 84 thousand 500 taka was allocated for each house. Also allocation is given from Prime Minister's Office for Namjari and Kabuliyat.
