People are trapped in Baniachang due to light rain

Thousands of people of Baniachong Upazila Sadar have been trapped in their houses in the raw mud roads due to a little rain. Flooding is caused by the ongoing rains in the monsoon. When it rains, the unpaved roads become impassable with potholes, potholes, ditches, mud and clay.

As a result, the local people have to bear the irony. The suffering will increase during the coming monsoon season. This is the complaint of the local people. However, hundreds of people of various professions, including schools, colleges, madrasa students, employees, vehicles, travel to educational institutions, upazila parishads and markets every day through such unpaved roads.

Even sick patients have to go to the upazila health complex through these roads. On Monday (March 20) morning on the ground, the truth of this can be seen by looking at the various unpaved roads inside the villages of different unions of Sadar, including Ward No. 3 of North-East Union No. 1 of Upazila Sadar, neighboring wards.

Some of the victims, who did not wish to be named, said, "Villages will become cities, cities will become capitals. This is the dream of the Prime Minister. In continuation of this, when the country is floating in the tide of development after 50 years of independence, such a picture of the unpaved roads inside the village of Baniachong Upazila Sadar seems really incongruous.

In this regard Minarul Islam, engineer of Baniachong LGED, said that these roads are not covered by LGED. Baniachong upazila executive officer UNO Padmasan Singh said development is an ongoing process. Necessary steps will be taken in this regard after discussing with the higher authorities.
