154 houses to be handed over in Rajnagar tomorrow

A total of 154 houses will be handed over tomorrow, March 22 (Wednesday) in Rajnagar upazila of Moulvibazar, including 7 of the third phase and 147 allocated for the fourth phase. On this day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will also declare Rajnagar upazila as landless and homeless free upazila.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over these houses through video conferencing. These houses are being given to the landless and homeless families of Fatepur, Panchgaon, Kamarchak and Mansurnagar Union of the upazila.

Before this, in the first, second and third phases, houses were given to landless and homeless families of different unions of the upazila. Upazila Executive Officer Farzana Akhter Mita gave these information in a press briefing at the Upazila Parishad conference room on Monday (March 20) afternoon.

In the press briefing, it was informed that next Wednesday, all the houses built in the fourth phase and the remaining house transfer program of the third phase will be inaugurated. In the fourth phase, 47 landless and homeless families in Fatepur Union, 21 in Panchgaon Union, 70 in Kamarchak Union and 9 in Mansurnagar Union will be given keys and acceptance documents of houses built on two percent land. 2 lakh 84 thousand 500 taka was allocated for the construction of each house.

These houses have been built under the supervision of Prime Minister's Office Shelter Project-2 under the leadership of district and upazila administration. Local landless and homeless people will get shelter through this program. Through this phase of house transfer, the upazila will be declared landless and homeless free. Various ceremonies will be completed with the beneficiaries and well-wishers from 9 am on Wednesday at the Upazila Parishad conference room.
