Coffin from abroad, the relatives saw the body of another person

Afsar Mia (40) of Shantiganj Upazila of Sunamganj died in Greece on February 28. Then last Friday night, the expatriate welfare desk of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka explained the coffin full of bodies to his relatives. The relatives brought the body to Sunamganj. This Saturday morning, the funeral time was announced by miking in the area. A grave is dug. But before the funeral, the coffin was opened and it was found that the body was not that of Afsar Mia. After the funeral, the grave did not happen.

The incident took place in Damodhartupi village of Shantiganj upazila. According to Shantiganj police station, the body found in the coffin is Jalal Uddin (52), son of Shafiq Uddin, son of Shilonpur village of Tongibari upazila of Munshiganj district. He recently died of a heart attack in Greece.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shantiganj Police Station Mohammad Khaled Chowdhury said that Afsar Mia's body will arrive in the country on March 13. This problem occurred because Afsar Mia's name and address were mistakenly added to Jalal Uddin's coffin while sending the body from Greece. Jalal Uddin's family has been contacted. The body was sent to the Expatriate Welfare Desk of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this evening. His relatives will take the body from there.

Afsar Mia is the elder son of Jamsid Ali of Damodhartupi village. According to police and family sources, Afsar Mia went to Greece six months ago. He has a wife and a six-year-old daughter at home. His other brother Emran Mia is also in Greece. On February 28, Afsar Mia died of liver cancer in a hospital in Greece. After completing all the procedures to bring the dead body of his brother, Emran came to the country himself.

Afsar Mia's body was supposed to arrive in the country yesterday. Accordingly, the family members went to the airport and took the coffin full of dead bodies. Then they reached home with the body around 3:30 yesterday night. He was supposed to be buried in the village cemetery after the Janaza at 11 o'clock today on Saturday. Villagers gathered in that house in the morning. Graves are also dug. But before the funeral, the coffin was opened and it was found that the body was not that of Afsar Mia.

Tofail Ahmad, the brother-in-law of Afsar Afsar Miar, said that he received the body in a coffin from the airport on Friday. His uncle's name and address were written on the coffin. But this morning he opened the coffin and found that the body was not his uncle's. Then they reported the matter to the police.
