Bangladesh-Seychelles football series starts today in Sylhet

The two-match football series between Bangladesh and Seychelles is starting today Saturday (March 25) in Sylhet. Both teams are expected to win the first match of the FIFA International football series between Bangladesh National Football Team and Seychelles National Football Team.

The two teams will play in the first of the two-match FIFA friendly series at the Sylhet District Stadium on Saturday at 4:15 PM.

On this occasion, on the initiative of Sylhet District Football Association, on Friday (March 24), the coach and captain of the Bangladesh and Seychelles football teams met the journalists at the conference room of the Sylhet District Sports Association. In the press conference held at 11 am, the coaches and captains of the two teams talked about the capabilities and expectations of their respective teams.

They said that even though it is a two-match series, thoughts and action plans are going on with regard to the first match. And by winning the first match, they want to start the series auspiciously.

At the press conference, Bangladesh team coach Javier Cabrera said, "We are looking forward to playing on the country's soil." Both matches of the series against Seychelles will be challenging. But we have to win the first match to be held on Saturday and move on.

"We have to show that we can win," Kabrera said, stating that both matches of the series must be won. There will be no excuses in this regard. We have to play well as a team to make the team proud. I am optimistic that we will do well. The goal is our victory, the distance doesn't matter. But it is not enough to just win, we have to prove that we have improved in football through the performance of the players on the field.

Cabrera said, though, the players on the Seychelles team are involved in different professions. But whether they are amateur team or something else is not for us to see. We have to show that we are a good team and that we can play well.' Cabrera said, Seychelles team has some good players in individual skills. Especially forward. But we don't think much about these things.

Jamal Bhuiyan, the captain of the Bangladesh team, said in the press conference, Sisels (199) is 7 steps behind us in the FIFA ranking. In Saudi Arabia, we drew 1-1 with Malawi, ranked 120 in FIFA, in a practice match. There is no problem in our team. Good results are our aim.

Jamal Bhuiyan said, 'This time we are playing in our country. And we want to start the series of two matches organized in Punyavmi Sylhet with a win.' But Jamal Bhaiya mentioned that all of Seychelles are very serious and said, 'Sisels team will never be taken lightly. And they won a 4-nation tournament in Sri Lanka a few days ago.

Captain Jamal Bhuiyan said, "Elita is different from the others" on whether Elita Kingsley, who left Nigerian citizenship and became a Bangladeshi in 2021, is being anointed in Saturday's match. He is physically quite strong. He has been playing in Bangladesh for many days. He is a box player. We will definitely see him on the field.

Seychelles head coach Neville Both said in the press conference, "All of our team is ready to play." Team players will give their best with Bangladesh. And if we can play like ourselves, we will win the match. Neville Both said, since Bangladesh is playing in their own field, they will be ahead mentally. But our team players will continue to fight equally throughout the field. And I believe that they will bring results in their favor.

Neville Both said, "Seychelles has a lot of players who are involved in different professions besides football. But when it comes to the football field, they excel themselves. Proof of that a few days ago we became the champion in the 4 nations tournament in SriLanka.

Seychelles team captain Stanio Murray said, 'We show our ability on the field. If we play to our potential we can win the series. But now we are only thinking about the first match. And we will win that match.

It is to be noted that a series of two matches between the Seychelles National Football Team and the Bangladesh National Football Team was organized in Sylhet as part of the international friendly football match of BAFF. The first match will be held on Saturday (March 25) and the second match on Tuesday (March 28) at Sylhet District Stadium. Both the matches will start at 4:30 PM.
