Robber arrested with stolen money, mobile phone in Sreemangal
In a special operation of the Sreemangal police station, three robbers were arrested along with stolen money and mobile phones. The robbers were arrested from Railway Colony in Biraimpur area of Srimangal town around 10:30 pm on Monday (April 3).
The arrested are Md. Masum Mia (22), Alam Talukder (17) and Arman Mia (15).
According to police sources, Babul Ahmed, the owner of Cafe Srimangal & Chinese in Sreemangal Chaumuhna, was returning home after setting up shop on Monday night. On his way back, when he reached the paved road in front of Sreemangal Municipal Crematorium Ghat, 2-3 unknown people stopped him and robbed him. When Babul Ahmed stopped them, the robbers hit Babul Ahmed on the back of his head with a brick in their hands and injured him. At that time, the robber team robbed the business cash of 28,000 taka in his black bag along with the bag. The robbers also took away an Oppo and an iPhone seven mobile phones used by Babul Ahmed.
In this incident, the victim Babul Ahmed made a written complaint to the police station. In this context, when the case was registered, the Srimangal police station conducted a raid and arrested the 3 accused with one of the stolen mobile phones and 10,000 taka in cash.
Police said that the arrested persons have admitted their involvement in the robbery during preliminary interrogation.
