Thousands of birds live in the house in Moulvibazar!

Nurul Islam Panki Mia is a resident of Birimabad village in Kauadighi of Ekatuna Union of Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila. His house is on the bank of Haor. The house is full of trees. There are thousands of different kinds of birds on the tree branches. The abundant presence of Dhabal Buck and black-colored Pankauri indicates that they are finding family in the trees. All around are birds and birds. They are flying in flocks. It feels safe to kill.

Panki Mea's house on the banks of Kawadighi Haor, a huge reservoir filled with lush green biodiversity, has become a safe haven for thousands of birds. Different species of Haor birds have made their home here.

Various birds can be seen on the ground, in the trees of the house. It was evening. After collecting food, the birds were returning to their address from the nearby water reservoir. White buck and Pankauri are the most common. There are numerous birds including pigeons, cockroaches, and snails.

Haorghesha Panki Mia's house is like a bird kingdom. Thousands of known and unknown birds live there among mango, jam, jackfruit, coconut, betel trees and bamboo trees. Anyone who comes to this house full of chirping birds will feel calm.

Housekeeper Nurul Islam Panki Mia and Housewife Hosne Ara Begum met in the backyard.

They said that they love the birds as their family members. Every day they wake up with the sound of wings and the call of these birds that come in groups. Birds fly at dawn in search of food. The couple waited until they returned. In the afternoon these birds started flying home in small groups. Now every evening in this house is called white buck and black pankauri.

Panki Mia said, 15 years ago, a few pankauris, snails first nested in her house. Since then, the number of birds gradually increased. In this way, thousands of birds have settled in the house.

He said, there are numerous unnamed birds including buck, pankauri, dove, chalik, snails in my house all year round. But at the end of Poush the number of birds increases which continues till Ashada month. In the meantime, they lay eggs and hatch. When the monsoons begin, the mother birds with their babies leave their homes and migrate to Hawar. However, other birds including doves, shaliks stay at home.

The lively movement of birds fascinates any person. That's why bird lovers are coming from far and wide every day.

Sarjul Ahmad, who came to see the birds, said that the birds have been living in this house of our village for 15 years. Sometimes we come to see birds. Many people also come from far away. Apart from the mechanical noise, the chirping of birds creates another atmosphere in nature. That which soothes the mind, so come here.

Howr Raksha Sangam Committee Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila General Secretary Rajan Ahmad said that if the wildlife conservation department rewards those who are providing safe shelter to birds in the homesteads of Haor area, then those whose homesteads the birds will visit in the future will also be encouraged to provide safe shelter to the birds.

Divisional Forest Officer of Moulvibazar Department of Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said, I myself have gone to this house. Birds will go where they feel safe. Those who love birds and give them a safe place to live are environment and bird friendly people. We have something to do for those great people.
