Qatari expatriate Naeem  is sleeping forever in Barlekha

Two days ago two friends ate together. Traveled together. But today the two are in two different places. Naeem Ahmad (24), an expatriate of Qatar, who lost his life in a tragic road accident, has been laid to rest in the grave forever.

The dead Naeem was buried yesterday at 11:30 a.m. after the janaza. And the injured Mizanur Rahman (25) is out of danger but still in the hospital bed.

Earlier, Naeem Ahmad (24) and Mizanur Rahman (25) were seriously injured in a head-on collision between a CNG-powered autorickshaw and a motorcycle at Barlekha in Moulvibazar on Sunday (March 12) around 7:30 pm. Naeem died when they were admitted to Sylhet Al-Haramain Hospital in a critical condition.

The autorickshaw driver fled after the accident. On receiving the information, the police seized the autorickshaw involved in the accident.

The deceased is the son of late Hochan Ahmad of Shimulya village in southern part of northern UP of Naeem Upazila and the injured is the son of deceased Shahidur Rahman of the same village of Mizanur.

Meanwhile, Naeem's death has cast a shadow of mourning in the area. The death of such a vivacious and calm nature son has saddened his family and friends. None of them can accept Naeem's death like this.

It was seen at Naeem's house that her mother was almost distraught after losing her. Relatives are crying. Reminiscing about him. Neighbors and friends are thronging the house to see him for the last time. Locals said that Naeem was a very calm boy. Always cheerful. They cannot accept his death like this.

Jabed Ahmad, cousin of the injured Mizanur Rahman, said that Mizanur was injured in the head and left hand. Doctors said, he is now out of danger. He is under observation.

Meanwhile, Barlekha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Yardous Hasan said that no case has been filed in the police station so far. He said that no case has been filed yet from the victim's family. If there is a case, legal action will be taken. After the accident, the police seized the accident autorickshaw from the spot. But the driver was not found.

According to local sources and relatives of the victims, Naeem and Mizanur have been in Qatar for a long time. Naeem worked in a cloth shop there and worked in a company in Mizanu. Recently they both came to the country for vacation. At 7:30 pm on Sunday, Naeem and Mizanur were going to Baralekha Sadar on a motorcycle from Kathaltali Bazaar. Their motorcycle collided head-on with a CNG-powered autorickshaw coming from the opposite direction as soon as they reached the Sonar Bangla filling station in Kathaltali Bazar on the Baralekha-Moulvibazar regional highway. Naeem and Mizanur fell from the motorcycle and got seriously injured. The local people quickly rescued them and first took them to the Upazila Health Complex. As the condition is serious, the doctor on duty sent them both to Osmani Hospital in Sylhet for advanced treatment. When the relatives took them to Sylhet Al-Haramain Hospital, the doctor on duty declared Naeem dead around 9 pm. And seriously injured Mizanur is being treated in the same hospital.
