SCC election: Who is getting party nomination of Awami League?

A total of 10 people have bought nomination papers of Awami League to fight for the post of mayor in the upcoming Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) elections. Among them, nine are Awami League leaders and one is a known face of sports.

Awami League has sold party nomination forms for the election of mayors of five city corporations and five municipalities and chairman of three upazila parishads from April 9 to 5 pm on Wednesday. Candidates have already collected and submitted the nomination form. Candidates for the boat symbol in these seats will be finalized in next Saturday's nomination board meeting.

Next Saturday (April 15) at 11 a.m., the Awami League Local Government and People's Representative Nomination Board meeting will be held at Ganobhaban, the official residence of the Prime Minister. Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will preside over the meeting. Awami League Secretary Sayem Khan informed this information.

According to the announcement of the Election Commission, Gazipur City Corporation elections will be held on May 25. Khulna and Barisal City Corporation will vote on June 12 and Rajshahi and Sylhet City Corporation on June 21. These votes will be in EVM.
