The school enrollment rate of tea workers children has increased
The school enrollment rate of children of tea workers has increased from 48 percent to 97 percent. Habiganj district administration informed this information on Tuesday (March 14).
According to the district administration, about 3000 children of 36 tea gardens in four upazilas of Habiganj had almost given up going to school. The situation worsens during corona infection.
When this matter came to the attention of Deputy Commissioner Ishrat Jahan, he took immediate initiative to overcome this situation.
Later, the District Commissioner arranged for free birth registration of children to encourage them to enroll in school. Strategically working with the garden authorities, NGOs and the education department quickly changed the situation. School enrollment rate of children of tea workers has increased from 48 percent to 97 percent now.
