Chandika Hathurusingha satisfied with Sylhet`s pitch

National team head coach Chandika Hathurusinghe is satisfied with Sylhet's pitch and condition. He claimed that the pitch and conditions were exactly what they wanted. Bangladesh will play a three-match ODI series against Ireland next month. Which will be held in Chelmsford, England. Therefore, the cricketers of the national team have camped in Sylhet to adapt to the wickets and conditions there. The three-day camp ends today.

At the press conference on Saturday (April 29), the head coach of the Bangladesh team, Coach Chandika Hathurusinghe said, 'We are very satisfied with the condition. They (curators and groundsmen) have worked hard to make the pitch conditions as we wanted. We are very well prepared. You can see the energy of the guys. The intensity was very good, I'm happy with it.'

Hathurusinghe, who has come to coach in the second term, knows the batting order of Bangladesh very well. Bangladeshi batters can be seen to be in the opening. Chandika Hathurusinghe kept the openers with good tips. In the press conference, the Bangladesh coach said, 'If you are an opener, you have to bat for 10 overs, you have to think about how to start and how to make maximum use of fielding restrictions (obligation to keep the fielder within 30 yards). If you bat in between, the situation will be different. Sometimes four or five have to come in (to bat).'

What was the job of the head coach in Sylhet training camp? In response to such a question, Hathurusinghe said that he did not actually do anything special. Hathuru said, 'I have not done anything extra with anyone. I was just standing in the middle to make sure the session ended well and the intensity didn't drop. I am not worried about anyone in particular. Thinking about the whole team. He (Tamim) is batting very well. I am very happy with the batting in this camp.

The Ireland series, which starts on May 9, is part of the ODI Super League. As Bangladesh was aggressive against Irish at home, Bangladesh team will play positive and aggressive cricket against Ireland in England.

Hathurusinghe said, 'We will always have the mindset of playing aggressive cricket. This does not mean that the ball must be hit and sent out of the stadium. Aggressive cricket means that whatever you do, you have to do it with a positive mindset. Also being aggressive in decision making, be it team selection or field placement or what kind of bowling will be done. We go to give the boys this freedom, so that they can go on the field and prove themselves.'
