Youth k i l l e d in elephant attack in Juri
A mahout named Russel Mia (40) died in an attack while bringing elephants to Juri in Moulvibazar.
The incident took place in Chungabari area of Juri Fultala Union on Sunday afternoon. Russell is the son of deceased Shahid Mia of Tattiuli village of Karmadha union of Kulaura upazila.
Chinu Mia, another mahout of elephants who was with Russell, said that they were working with elephants around 4 pm on Sunday in Chungabari area of Juri.
At that time Russell who came to take the elephant from Kulaura went in front of the elephant and the elephant attacked him. Later he was quickly rescued from there and brought to Kulaura Upazila Health Complex where the doctor declared him dead.
Confirming the matter, Juri Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain said that the body has been sent to the hospital for autopsy.
